1990 New Candidates

At least he has chest hair.

At least he has chest hair.

Our 1990 candidates got a lot of off-the-field exposure in addition to their legendary baseball exploits.

We have Rick Monday, the first-ever pick in the June amateur draft. There’s Bob Watson a former World-Series-winning GM and an MLB front-office guy. Paul Splittorff was a beloved Royals announcer. Even our two big newbies in 1990 were famous off the field. Jim Palmer was known as “Cakes” for a reason. And Joe Morgan…well he should never have written that computer-book about getting himself fired.
