2000 New Candidates

Oh, thank God!

Oh, thank God!

Remember Y2K? Did you put in a few cases of pork-n-beans and bottled water? Did you hide cash around the house? Buy a few cans of gasoline? You know, just in case.

Well, the turn of the millennium was a non-event in terms of crippling the modern world, and our list of 2000 newbies has something of that same feeling. In fact, there’s some nice letdowns here:

So the newbs are a little light on teh awesome. Gossage is a rock-solid candidate, and he had a better mustache than Morris, which is critical. Both of them had a better mustache than Frank Viola’s, however, while Rick “The Red Baron” Sutcliffe did the beard crowd J. So, if we’re talking about candidates grooming habits, it’s an opportunity for the backlog.

  1. I see the 1991 World Series is well represented. I always loved to watch “Skates” Smith play. You never, ever knew what was going to happen. 🙂
